Tempore Magistri Robert dalton maioris ibidem Anno regni domine nostre Elizabeth nunc regine et Cetera nono //

[In the margin] The eleccion of the maiour
Inprimis vpon tewesday the last day of September in the yeare afforesaid and the day of the eleccon of the Maior Shiriffe and chaimberlains et cetera Iohn Thorneton maiour and thaldermen his brethren accordinge to thauncyent charters and customes of the said towne named and appointed vnto the Burgesses of the saime towne for the eleccion of the Maior. Walter Iobson & Iohn Thorneton to elect and choise one of them maiour. Whereof the said Iohn Thorneton then maiour thaldermen and burgesses with one assent and consent named and elected the said Robert Dalton maiour who then presently tooke vpon him the same office and was then sworne for the iuste and dewe execucion of the saime /

Item the saime day and yeare the said Maiour and burgesses Aldermen accordinge to the tenour purporte and effest of the charter graunted to the maiour & burgesses of that said towne did elect and choise with one full assent and consent of theim selfes the said Robert dalton maiour with to be the Quenes Maiestis admyrall within the countie of Kingeston vpon Hull the towne of Dripoole and the precinct of the same and throwghe owt the water of humber for and duringe the tearme of one hole yeare.who was then sworne for the dewe execucion of.the saime office /

Item the saime day and yere the said Iohn Thorneton Maioir and thaldermen afforesaid accordinge to the auncyent customs and liberties afforesaid named and appointed to the Burgesses for the eleccion of the shiriffe Iohn Gregorie and [Blank ] of whiche two the said Maioir Aldermen and did elect and choise Iohn gregorie who was sworne for the dewe execucion of the said offfice /

Item the same day and yeare the said Iohn Thorneton Robert Dalton Maiour and thaldermen named vnto the said Burgesses huge Kirfoote Iohn Hodgekinson Iohn ffawether and William Scooles to elect and choise of them fower two to be chaimberlaines of whom the said maiour aldermen and burgesses did elect the said hughe Kirfoote and Iohn Hodgkinson who were sworne for the dewe execucion of the saime office The said Hughe Kirfoote beinge the elder chaimberlain

Item the saime day and yere Iohn Thorneton laite Maiour and xpistofer Stockedayle were elected to be coroners within the towne and countie of Kingeston vpon Hull who beinge then present tooke vpon them the said office and were Sworne for the dewe execucion of the saime

Whereas in theise yeares
the Maiour of this towne for the [time] beinge is putt to muche more and greater chardges and expenses in the furniture of his table and in the mayntenance and findinge of his howse then thoise whiche in times Longe by paste were maiours of the saime towne have been: as well by reason of the greate and daly repaire of straingers to the said towne and so to the said Maiours howse as also for that corne and other victualls arre growen to a more excessive prices then in auncient times heretofor and neuerthelesse the olde auncient fee allowed to the said maiour for the time beinge owt of the said townes chaimber towardes his provision for maintenance of his howse as yet nothinge at all augmented nor amended wherevpon in time to come may [f. 75] arrise muche inconvenience Wherefore for redresse therein to be had it is fully concluded condescended & aggreed vpon by the said Mr Maiour and his brethren thaldermen of the said towne assembled in their counsell chaimber within the guilde hawle of the said towne the seconde day of October in the Neenth yeare of ye reigne of our Sovereigne Lady Elizabeth the Quenes moste excellent Maiestie That from hence fourthe the chaimberlaines of this towne for the time beinge shall yearely content and paye vnto the said maiour of the saime towne for his time beinge owt of ye said townes chaimber towardes the mayntenance of his howse the Some of xlli of good and laweful englishe money viz at the feaste of the nativitie of our Saviour Iesus christe xli at the feaste of easter xli at the feaste of St Iohn the Baptist xli and at the feaste of St Michaell tharchaungell xli whiche said Somme of xlli shalbe allowed to the saime chaimberlaines vpon their accompt at the awditt then next to be holden for the said towne.

Md that the thirteen day of november in the yeare afforesaid the was Sealed and delyvered vnder their common Seale a lease maide by the said Maiour and burgesses a lease vnto george davie of Kingeston vpon Hull marchant of in and vpon a shoppe & a chaimber covered with Leade scituate in the markitt streate in Kingeston vpon Hull for [f. 75v.] xxjtie yeares from ye feaste of St Martyn the Bisshoppe in winter laste paste payinge therefore yerely the Somme of xs and ye said george is bownde to all manner reparacions.

Item the saime day and yere by the said Maiour & burgesses was Sealed and delyvered vnder their common Seale vnto the said george Davie a lease of a cloise nighe vnto myton milne for xxjtie yeres from the said ffeaste painge therefore yearly at termes accostomed xxs. And the said george standithe bownden to maintein the ditches and yaite and to pay all owtrentes.

Item the day and yeare abovesaid by the said maiour and burgesses was sealed and delyvered vnto th Iohn Hodgkinson alias hodgeson of kingeston vpon Hull marriner a Lease of a docke in the tripute nowe in his tenure for xxjtie yeres from the said feaste. painge therefore yerely at the vs at the feastes of penthecoste and St martyn by even porcions.

Item the fourthe day of february in the tenthe yeare of the Reigne of our Sovereigne Lady Elizabeth the Queenes moste excellent Maiestie by the said Maiour and Burgesses was Sealed and delyvered vnto Robart prattie of Kingeston vpon Hull draper a Lease of a Shoppe and a chaimber covered with Leade in the dinge in ye markitt streate in Kingeston upon Hull afforesaid for xxjtie yeares from witson next for ye yerely [rent] of xs the said Robert beinge bownd with to all reparacions /

[In the margin] A lease to Iohn Kiddall of medowe & pasture in stoneferry & dripoole. for a fine ls. /
Item the tewntie day of May in the yere afforesaid by the said maiour and burgesses was Sealed and delyvered vnto Iohn Kiddaile of stoneferry a Lease of three acres of pasture in a plaice called the westcrofte in the feildes of stoneferrey five roodes of pasture in the feildes of dripoole halfe an acre of pasture in stoneferry for xxjtie yeres from martynmas next for ye yerely rent of vs with a clawse of reentre and he to mainteen all ditches yetties bankes & clowes belonginge to the premisses

Item the twenty day of September in the yere afforesaid by the said maiour & burgesses was sealed and delyvered vnto Richard collin of Kingeston vpon Hull yoman a Lease vnder their common Seale of a stable with a litle garthe thereto adyoininge situate in Kingeston vpon Hul afforesaid in a streate their called Iesus strete for xxjtie yeres from the said feaste for ye yerely rentes of iijs iiijd at penthecoste & martynmas. by even porcions and the said Richard to mainteen with all manner of reparacions with a clawse of reentre for lacke of payment of the rente and or performaunce of the covenantes /

[In the margin] A lease to Robert Snaithe of meadow & beaste gaites in ye lordshippe of Sutton / fine vli
Item the saime day and yere by the said maiour and burgesses was Sealed with their common Seale & delyvered vnto Robart Snaithe of Suton husbond a lease of fower acres of meadowe in Sutton inges fower beaste gaites in bransholme five beaste gaites in the easte carre and two beaste gaites in the northelandes for xxjtie yeres ffrom martynmas next and for ye yerely rent of vs xixs at ye feastes accustomed with a clawse of reentre for non paiment of the rent. and the saime Snaithe to mainteen all ditches bankes clowes gates & Ietties & to beare & paie all other chairdges goinge owt or dewe to be paid for ye premisses
