From a Minute of Secretary Cecill.

WE grete yow well. We be advertised that the Kyng of Sweden, beyng of his owne Mynd determyned to come to this Realme to visitt us, hath alredy embarqued hym self; and being on the Seas hytherward was put back into the Seas by contrary Wynds; and yet meaneth spedely to retorn with the next convenient Wynds. And therfore not being assured, to what cost the Wynd shall now direct hym, and his Navy, although his Purpoose be to make his courss into the Ryver of the Thamiss, we have, for the Honor of our selve and our Realme, thought mete to admonish yow, and also to will yow, that if he shall arryve in Yarmouth, or any Port of Norsolk or Suffolk, that in that case yow shall furthwith both send to hym with all spede some Gentillmen, and to cause them offer to hym such Reverence and Service, as shall for our Honour belong to a King; and your self with that spede that ye may, to repayre unto hym with such Trayne of Noblemen and Gentillmen, and with such Furniture of your owne, as shall seme mete for your Honor in this case and your owne Estate: For which Purpoose ye shall do well, furthwith uppon recept herof, to wryte to all the Noblemen and Gentillmen in those Parts, to put themselves in a redynes to Answer, if such an Event shuld happen. And although he shall not percase arryve uppon the forsayd Cost, but uppon some other, yet our Meaning is, and so we will and require yow, as soon as ever ye shall here of his arryvall by any good Meanes, to make your repayre to our Court with such Furnyture, as to your Estat shall belong, in all Manner of Respects, to be used for the Attendance uppon us, for the Honor of us and our Realme, and for the answeryng to your Estate and Degree, wherof we ernestly will yow to have dew Consideration.
